A frequent question about VERTEXIBO is: are you a bank? The answer is clear: no. And that decision is deliberate. In this article we explain the architecture that powers the platform and why we chose it.
What we are and what we are not
VERTEXIBO is a financial technology platform and a network of verified operators. We are not a bank and we don't offer banking services directly. Banking services — including virtual sub-accounts — are provided by Slash Financial, Inc. and its FDIC-insured partner bank(s). Your funds are held at the partner bank, not at VERTEXIBO.
The division of responsibilities
This separation defines who does what:
- VERTEXIBO operates the network platform, the referral program and the compensation structure.
- Slash handles account provisioning, custody of funds, card issuance and transfer processing.
Building on regulated banking infrastructure lets us offer serious financial tools without taking on functions we're not authorized for. Instead of reinventing the banking system, we rely on those who already operate within its regulatory framework.
Technical integration
The platform connects with Slash's API for core banking services, virtual accounts and the webhooks that keep events in sync. A streaming endpoint serves the presentation video content, and object storage safeguards KYC documents. Each piece plays a narrow role within a clear architecture.
What you gain
For the operator, this architecture means access to modern financial infrastructure with the reassurance that custody of funds is in the hands of a regulated, insured banking entity. The 2.5% platform fee covers the operations, compliance infrastructure and support that make all of the above possible.
Honesty by design
We don't invent licenses or guarantees we don't have. When we talk about "institutional-grade", we describe quality, not regulatory status. This transparency isn't a legal detail: it's how we build trust. Knowing exactly who holds your money and under what rules is, to us, part of the product.
